Infitiv: Business Developer

One-third of food produced each year is lost or wasted before consumed, which causes around $1 trillion loss and is responsible for 6% of the global CO2 emission. Infitiv is an innovative startup located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Our mission is to prevent food loss, focusing on the fresh produce in the post-harvest stage.  The company is developing a novel gas sensor based on nanostructures that collects fresh produce quality indicators coupled with an algorithm to monitor the quality decay during storage and predict shelf-life to reduce loss and ensure good quality to the consumers. The data collected can be further used for evidence-based decision-making for sustainable supply chain decisions.

We are looking for a highly motivated and business-oriented business developer to bring Infitiv’s solution to customers and partners in the fresh produce supply chain sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional who is passionate about technology and the agricultural industry and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Your roles & responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential market segments, trends and growth opportunities within the agricultural (fruit) industry.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including growers, suppliers, retailers and industry associations.
  • Identify and evaluate potential business partners, customers and distribution channels to expand our reach.
  • Communicate with customers to understand customer problems, concerns, demands and translate this information to the R&D team in the company to fine-tune the solution.
  • Develop the go-to-market strategy and fine-tune the business model.
  • Lead the negotiation and closing of business deals, contracts and partnerships.
  • Monitor industry developments, competitor activities and regulatory changes to identify risks and opportunities for the business.
  • Deliver pitches and presentations to customers, partners and investors
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and establish industry connections.

Your profile:

  • Proven track record in business development, sales or related roles within the food or agriculture industry, preferably in the fruit sector
  • Knowledge and network of the fruit industry, including market dynamics, distribution channels and supply chain management
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to identify growth opportunities and develop effective business strategies
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and achieve targets
  • Proficiency in market research and data analysis tools to gather insights and drive informed decision-making
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take calculated risks and explore innovative approaches
  • Team player
  • Nice to have knowledge about gas sensing applications in the agricultural sector
