Aircision: Telecom Network Engineer

Aircision is a startup based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, developing next generation free space optics (FSO) systems for use in backhaul within new telecom and enterprise networks. Our partners include Eindhoven Startup Alliance (which includes ASML and Philips), multinational telecom system integrators, TNO Space & Scientific Instrumentation and other global research institutes, universities and innovative manufacturers. Telecom Network Engineer

You should have interest in developing new systems for FSO communications. Essential Technical Skills

• Proficiency in handling optical network hardware and devices.
• Networking Fundamentals: Good understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, OSI model,
routing protocols, and VPN technologies.
• Linux Administration and Network Protocols and Standards: Knowledge of network protocols and
standards such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, and IPv4/IPv6.
• Proficiency in Programming Languages: Python, C/C++ for developing network software.
• Containerization and Orchestration: Experience with containerization technologies like Docker.


Your responsibilities


• Design, maintain, and support the network infrastructure for a cutting-edge Optical Wireless
Communication (OWC) device.
• Integrate Free Space Optics (FSO) and Optical Wireless Communication (OWC) devices with other
systems and industry solutions.
• Develop software tools to gather network performance metrics from diverse devices in the network.
• Aid the development team in containerization and upkeep of the Continuous Integration/Continuous
Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
• Design and manage the organization’s cloud network infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Evaluate third-party solutions to improve network reliability and availability.
• Lead and execute studies for next generation FSO systems, for higher bandwidth and hybrid solutions.
