Our company:
SonicPrecision is an early-stage MedTech startup with technology roots in Philips. We are active in the field of interventional cardiology and focus on improving treatment of cardiac arrhythmias using a novel ablation catheter design. By embedding ultrasound sensors in the tip of the ablation catheter, we provide imaging and sensing capabilities during the intervention allowing the electrophysiologist to adapt the procedure to patient specific characteristics. With this closed loop approach, we aspire to create a new standard in the treatment of rhythm disorders in the heart by offering better options for the individual patient.
To establish our first proof of principle, we currently scouting for a System Architect to drive the blueprint of our minimal viable product.
About your Role
As our system architect, you will be responsible for designing the blueprint of the prototype solution that will show our proof of concept in a preclinical setting and the subsequent clinical system. You will prepare the prototype such that scaling towards a clinical system to be developed for the first in human cases can be based on initial design choices. This means ensuring that the designs can be adapted to meet the requirements of stakeholders, regulatory standards and industry practices for the phases of the development.
Your responsibilities
In particular, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, implementing, and testing the proof of concept system on the bench and in preclinical environments and the subsequent clinical system
- Collaborating with external partners/suppliers to prepare and scale the project from advanced development phase towards the development cycle
- Preparing the demonstrator system to be scaled to the first in human phase with focus on safety and reliability
- Structure documentation and reports required for this scaling (requirements, specifications, design, risk management, testing)
- Maintaining and extending the in-house development pipeline
- Grow the technical team in line with the phase in the engineering pipeline
Your qualifications
- PhD or master’s degree in engineering or computer science, or a related field
- ~3 years’ experience in MedTech or healthcare, experience in minimally invasive healthcare development will make a perfect candidate
- Technical skills with proficiency in system architecture design, including hardware, software, and signal processing
- Understanding of diagnostic system requirements, including regulatory and quality standards (FDA & ISO).
- Knowledge of relevant programming languages, such as C++, Java, Matlab or Python
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Scaled Agile or Scrum.
Our offer
SonicPrecision will offer compensation and benefits aligned with the job requirements and the startup nature of the company with potential to grow with the success of the company such as Stock Appreciation Rights. In addition we offer personal growth and career development:
- Access to cutting-edge technology (assets as developed within the Philips project) and ecosystem research facilities (such as the TU/e).
- Opportunities for professional development and continued education with mentoring by subject matter experts (such as HighTechXL as venture builder)
- Collaborative team-oriented culture with like-minded professionals.
