VitalWear: Software Engineer

The company

VitalWear is an early-stage startup company based in Eindhoven, developing solutions based on integrated photonic sensing technology, integrated into textiles and clothing, for noninvasive medical applications. Our vision is to become a leading provider of medical grade wearable sensors that can safely, continuously, autonomously, and comfortably monitor relevant patient information. Our first application is aimed at the early detection and more effective prevention of pressure ulcers, a global healthcare problem which is growing due to
the aging population.

VitalWear is currently recruiting for several roles to further build its technical team towards the development of its functional prototype and, subsequently, its Minimum Viable Product.

Your motivation

Are you seeking a challenge within a dynamic startup environment? Do you want to apply your skills to make a positive impact on society, by reducing the pain for patients and by supporting nurses in delivering a high quality of care? Do you aspire to be part of an ambitious team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology, poised to make a difference in noninvasive healthcare? Are you passionate about innovating and excited about taking

In particular, you will be responsible for:
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining the software and models e.g. conventional,
real-time-processing algorithms or artificial-intelligence-based models
• Integrating the system into larger networks, where information will be exchanged
safely and reliably
• Contributing to continuous improvement based on test results or customer feedback
• Maintaining and extending the in-house code base with new functionalities and test
frameworks
• Collaborating with external partners/suppliers to develop visualization frameworks
and dashboards
• Generating documentation and reports

Cross-functional contributions:
• Generation of patents, reports and/or publications
• Expansion of laboratory infrastructure and capabilities, including automation
• Contributing to the implementation of a Quality Management System (documentation
of designs, design and change control processes)
• Competence sharing among team-members

We are looking for a professional with
• A Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering
or a similar discipline
• Good knowledge of available technologies and tools for software development
• Strong verbal/written communication skills in English
